I love this quote from Kurt Vonnegut‘s A Man Without a Country— “Go into the arts. I'm not kidding. The arts are not a way to make a living. They are a very human way of making life more bearable. Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven's sake.”
It is so true. The arts, especially theater, allow us to express our humanness, communicating with others on a deep and personal level. In Covenant Players, we are constantly growing in our theater work and in our faith. And we not only grow ourselves, but we know that our plays have an impact on this world.
This August we have been joined by 4 courageous and powerful women who will work and serve in our teams in Europe. Catherine Pinckney (from Michigan USA) and Ramona Wanie (from Stahlhofen a.W. Germany) are assigned to the Charlemagne Unit, covering France and Belgium. Line Maagaard (from Fredericia, Denmark) will be on the Midnight Sun Unit, covering Denmark and Sweden. Sirgit Simso (from Estonia) is serving on our Albion Unit, covering southeast England. They are “on the road” right now, rehearsing and performing and making a difference.
Go into the arts. Grow your soul. Change the world, one person at a time.
Join Covenant Players!
