Someone described the difference between “belief” and “faith”.
“Belief”, he said “is knowing that it is possible for a person to swim and knowing the movements needed to swim. Faith is getting in the water.”
Before I knew it I was driving through the desert, in a part of my own country that was completely foreign to me, and hearing more Spanish than English.
I was learning how to listen to people who were very different from me, and learning that we had the same concerns about our world.
I was performing in churches that I would have thought strange if I had seen them on TV, and I was learning that they were Christians like me!
I was learning that the world was so much bigger than I had ever thought, but I was able to handle it in ways that I never imagined.
I learned that an audience could be moved and changed because of a play where we had performed.
I learned to love the adventure of travel, of not knowing what to expect.
Do you love adventure? How do you know until you have one?
Do you love travel? How do you know until you do it?
Do you love God? How do you know until you know Him?
Do you want to serve others? How do you know?
Test your belief. Live your faith.
Get in the water!
